and enlightening learning adventure.
Visitors are often looking for that 'extra-special-something'
to do on their vacation - our tour provides just that.

On the tour you will learn about our regional and local heritage, the flora and fauna, the geologic and glacial history, and the forests and waters of Northwest Wisconsin.

As we intertwine our history with nature, you will discover why Northwest Wisconsin is so special, interesting, and beautiful.

We have several starting points on various days to help make it easier for visitors to find a tour close to home, or to wherever they are staying.  Famous Dave's on Hwy B, Telemark Lodge near Cable, Downtown Barnes on Hwy N, and Hayward, at the downtown parking lot, are four starting points being used in 2009.

Your day-tour covers about 100 miles with numerous stops and short hikes along the way. Our comfortable  mini-bus seats 14, allowing for  interaction with the guide as well as with the other guests.  Our 'feast in the forest' picnic lunch (included) will satisfy both your palate and appetite.

Your tour combines a geo-tour, eco-tour, nature tour, and history tour into a balanced and diverse experience, expanding your awareness and understanding of the northwoods. The tour takes you 'off-the-beaten-path', exploring hidden gems of Bayfield, Sawyer, and Douglas Counties.

The tour was a great hit with my family, both young and old commented on
a fantastic day spent learning and viewing the history and ecology of the area. 
Also for all of us to be together enjoying the same event for the entire day
was fantastic. This for sure will go down as the best family reunion event ever
by all the families that attended our reunion this year.
